With “Mission Shakti”, India Becomes Space Power

Positive India: India has successfully killed a LEO Satellite in space with A-SAT-An Anti Satellite Missile System; some 300 km from earth in space. Under “Mission Shakti”, our Anti-Satellite weapon ASAT shot a live satellite on Low Earth Orbit and destroyed it just within 3 minutes
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that shooting down a LEO Satellite is a rare achievement of DRDO and space scientists.
LEO Satellites are satellites which keep on orbitting with a very high speed at an altitude of 300 km above the earth. According to PM Narendra Modi, Mission Shakti was a highly complex space technology and Anti-Satellite weapon system was launched at extremely high speed with remarkable precision. This success of Anti-Satellite Weapon has made India the most advanced country with Anti-Satellite weapon system technology behind USA, Russia and China. Whatever opposition says, this launch has given Indians a sense of power and pride.
As compared to GEO satellites which are stationary in outer space, LEO Satellites keep on orbitting the earth with a very high speed in space in relation to earth. Since they are very close to earth and are movinģ with highest speed,they are used for Spying.
