Dr. Raman Singh said that 4-G Smart Phones which are the exclusive privilege of Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers will be in the hands of workers and farmers. Chhattisgarh will enter a new era of digital development. The State will be henceforth coined as ‘Smart Chhattisgarh’. There are several institutes of higher learning -Triple-I.T, IIM, and I.I.T. He added that the distribution of Smart phones is the biggest project of its kind in the country and the world. The Smart phones will empower women also. He distributed some phones to women also and marked the launch of the project.

Chief Minister also dedicated 556 mobile towers and Mobile App ‘Goth’. The citizens will come to know about the State Government programmes and policies on Smart Phones. The phone owners can view Chhattisgarh cultural programmes also. Dr. Raman Singh also launched ‘Land Lease’ (Population Pattas) to the citizens of district Raipur by distributing them. Around one lakh ‘Lease Pattas’ will be distributed  in district Raipur and to 18 thousand families in the capital.

Food Minister Mr. Punnulal Mohale,  Urban Administration Minister Mr. Amar Agrawal,  Public Works Minister Mr. Rajesh Munat, Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh, Information Technology Principal Secretary Mr. Aman Kumar Singh, Secretary Mr. Sanjay Shukla, and world famous Hindi film heroine Ms Kangana Ranaut and senior officers of the district were also present.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that around four lakh 60 thousand  students of various colleges in the State and 40 lakh women in the rural regions will be allocated Smart Phones in the next months years.  Five lakh poor families in the urban areas will benefit. Dr. Raman Singh said it is a proud moment for all the citizens of the State that within days of launch of Sanchar Kranti Yojana at the hands of President Mr. Ramnath Kovind  at Bastar the distribution of Smart Phones had begun. The owners of Smart Phones can avail of many facilities Online including railway ticket booking. They can also view cricket matches.

Dr. Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh is changing radically. The migration of poorer sections of the villagers had vanished since 2003. Rail and road connectivity had increased manifold. Information network is expanding rapidly. He said that to succeed in life the youth should have enthusiasm and faith in themselves. Referring to famous Hindi film artiste Ms Kangana Ranaut, Dr. Raman Singh said that hailing from a small village in Himachal Pradesh she had made a place for herself in the Hindi Film Industry. He said that 50 lakh smart phones will be in the hands of first-time users.

Mr. Aman Kumar Singh spoke in detail regarding the Sanchar Kranti Yojana. He said that while Dr. Raman Singh had been touring Narayanpur, Bijapur and Sukma districts as a part of ‘Lok Suraaj’ Abhiyan in April 2017, the citizens informed him that they have all the basic amenities except mobile phones. When Dr. Raman Singh was informed that only 29 per cent of the people had mobile phones he instructed the officials to prepare a draft plan to provide mobile connectivity to all the citizens of the State.

The senior officer said that 26th July 2018 will be written in Golden letters in Chhattisgarh history as President Mr. Ramnath Kovind had inaugurated Sanchar Kranti Yojana at Bastar. Film heroine Ms. Kangana Ranaut also addressed the gathering.
